Canada is not going to meet its 2012 Kyoto targets without purchasing a lot carbon credits and I have a feeling that most Canadians are about as enthusiastic as I am about that, i.e., not at all. The Conservatives are going to call the Liberals on this on Tuesday.
Dion should have made the Conservatives intellectually dishonest and completely useless intensity based plan the issue, but alas. Instead he made Kyoto issue. As a result, past Liberal failings are in play and so too is the aforementioned unpalatable solution.
